EOSD CELEBRATES SEI DAY

East Orange School District participated in International Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Day which was on Friday, March 26, 2021. This day provided an opportunity for our district to demonstrate its support for integrating evidence-based SEL into our schools, organizations, and larger communities. Moreover, it served as a wonderful opportunity to educate the entire school community about SEL and its impact. SEL is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. SEL improves academic outcomes, builds positive school climate, and provides children with the necessary skills to excel in today’s workforce.

Check us out as all 22 schools and central office celebrated and commemorated SEL Day by intentionally setting aside time to participate in activities and programming! #SELDay2021
EAST ORANGE SCHOOL DISTRICT FOCUS PARENT PORTAL NEWS

East Orange School District (EOSD) is preparing parents and teachers for tomorrow with the EOSD FOCUS Parent Portal.

The EOSD Parent Portal is a web-based student information system that allows parents to view their children’s grades, assignments, attendance, report cards, and mid quarter notices all online. Since pre-k students do not receive report cards and mid quarter notices, parents of pre-k students will only see their child’s attendance. All parents will be able to view important messages, postings, and alerts from their child’s school and/or central office. If the EOSD has a parent’s email address on file, parents will also be able to receive important emails from schools and/or the district.

Please note: Paper copies of report cards and mid quarter notices are no longer distributed to students or mailed home. The EOSD Parent Portal is one of two of the only ways you can retrieve your child’s report cards and mid quarter notices. The other way is via email. If you have not been receiving your child’s report cards and mid quarter notices via email, the district does not have your email address on file. To submit your email address to the district, please send us an email. Remember to include your name, your child’s name, school, grade, and district ID in the email.

Remember, a concerned parent will not go the whole year without receiving their child’s report cards and mid quarter notices.
