Thomas Paisley
Thomas Paisley is a dedicated advocate for the students of East Orange, leveraging over 35 years of community service and work experience, along with expertise in Operations Management and Education Administration, to ensure they receive a first-class education. As a mayoral-appointed member of the Board of Education, he collaborates with district administration, teachers, families, community organizations, and stakeholders, guided by his commitment to "One Goal—Putting The Students of East Orange First."
Mr. Paisley's approach is informed by a strong educational background, including a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Medgar Evers College, City University of New York; dual Master degrees in Education and Special Education from Touro University; and a Certificate in Advanced Studies in School Building Leadership and School District Leadership from the College of Saint Rose and Russell Sage College. He utilizes this knowledge to cross-reference global best practices.
A 20-year resident of East Orange, Mr. Paisley is also an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, whose principles of "Manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind" deeply influence his community service. He shares a personal connection to East Orange with fellow fraternity member Paul Robeson, a member of the Alpha Gamma Lambda chapter. Mr. Paisley believes that by providing students with competitive educations and strong support from their households and community, East Orange will continue to thrive, and its youth will develop into competent, caring adults prepared for future success.
