2023-2024 EOSD Applications
Once again, we are preparing for the application/audition process for the 2023-2024 school year. Students now have the opportunity to apply/ audition for admission to Houston Acamdey Grade 6th), STEM Academy (Grades 6th and 9th), Tyson Middle/High (Grades 6th and 9th), and Campus (CTE Programs).
Students who choose not to participate in the process will be assigned to our comprehensive middle school, Truth for grade 6 and Campus High School grade 9.

Career and Technical Education programs require more commitment than traditional high school programs because these programs require students to complete 3-4 additional classes that may include an internship or a work experience assignment. Students accepted into the CTE programs are required to meet the following requirements:
· Maintain a 2.5 GPA (grade point average)
· Complete all course and work experiences associated with their chosen pathway
· Mandatory participation in CTE programs and activities organized by and associated with the East Orange Campus High School
· Attend school daily and meet the Average Daily Attendance (ADA) requirement (92% attendance rate)
· Adhere to guidelines outlined in the EOCHS CTE STUDENT/PARENT CONTRACT
· Maintain a 2.5 GPA (grade point average)
· Complete all course and work experiences associated with their chosen pathway

In order for the application to be considered complete, the following and submit by January 20, 2023
- All contact/demographic information provided and application signed
- All portions of the application completed
- Complete Teacher Recommendations (2 Current Teachers)
- Guidance Counselor Recommendations (1)
- Entrance Exam (MA, ELA) at STEM Academy Date: TBD

Cicely Tyson Middle / High School of Performing and Fine Arts (APPLICATION CLOSED)
The audition process is open to all East Orange residents in Grades 5 and 8.
The Middle School (MS) Arts majors for 5th-grade students only include Dance, Theater Arts, Fine Arts, Animation, Instrumental Music, Piano, and Vocal Music.

Please note that there are a limited number of spots available in each of these majors.
The High School (HS) Arts majors available for an audition to all 8th-grade students include:

Please note that there are a limited number of spots available in each of these majors. Students interested in auditioning for instrumental music and strings must bring an instrument to the audition. Tyson M/H does not presently offer guitar as an instrumental option.
