Wayne R. Stackhouse, Jr.

Reverend Wayne R. Stackhouse, Jr. was reared in a single parent home by his mother, Alice J. Howard. His formative years were spent in the city of East Orange, NJ, for which he is a product of its educational system. He graduated from Clifford J. Scott High School in 1994. It was in high school that he participated in a variety of extracurricular activities. During his sophomore year in high school his training in ministry began, but was shortened, due to the untimely death of his pastor and mentor, the late Rev. Rubel Caldwell, Jr. His ability to play football combined with a successful academic tenure afforded him the opportunity to gain a football scholarship to Delaware State University.

On June 8, 1997, during his journey in undergraduate school he was licentiate as a gospel preacher by the Peaceful Zion Baptist Church of East Orange, NJ. Rev. Stackhouse would eventually graduate from Del State with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. After graduation, he returned to his hometown to begin his career as an educator. In 2006, he received his masters in educational leadership degree from Fordham University. Rev. Stackhouse, who is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and sits on the East Orange School District Board of Education, has served as a middle school math teacher, dean of students, and other roles of leadership in the East Orange, Newark, and Englewood Public School Districts. Currently, he serves as a vice principal for the Marion P. Thomas Charter High School of Culinary and Performing Arts. In May 2010, he received a masters of divinity degree from the Drew University School of Theology. He has also studied on a doctoral level in the field of organizational leadership at Regent University. Rev. Stackhouse served diligently as an associate minister for the Community Baptist Church of Englewood, NJ. Under the leadership and tutelage of Rev. Dr. Lester W. Taylor, Jr. on August 12, 2012, Rev. Stackhouse was ordained by the North Jersey Missionary Baptist Association to continue his strive in ministry. In less than a year following, on June 2, 2013, Rev. Wayne R. Stackhouse, Jr. was installed as senior pastor of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church of Orange, NJ.

His life has been filled with plenty of mistakes and mishaps. Like others, he has not lived a perfect life and his actions have caused plenty of calamities. However, despite his shortcomings he knows the Lord to be a forgiving God, "a very present help." God is not done with molding him and he stands in anticipation to see exactly where God is going to take him next on this journey.

His life scripture comes from Galatians 6:9, “and let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.” When all is said and done he relies on two words to encourage him…But God!
