Superintendent's Message

Dear East Orange School District Community,

Happy 2026! As we approach the mid-year point, I am incredibly proud of what we are accomplishing together.

First, I want to thank all of our community members who participated in our three Strategic Plan subcommittees during the October - December months. Your insights will help us shape the first draft of our five-year plan. After gathering further input from parent, student, and staff focus groups, we will finalize the plan for Board approval this June.

We also now have our Aspiring Leaders Academy for staff members, our Empowered Parent University workshops for our families, and the planning for our Johnnie L. Cochran Academy of Gifted Education & Creative Reasoning (opening September 2026) all fully underway.
