About Our District

Through the implementation of innovative programs aligned to 21st Century Skills and robust partnerships with staff, students, parents, and other community stakeholders, the East Orange School District exposes students, who have been traditionally under-represented, to STEM-related experiences, community awareness, as well as post-secondary career opportunities that are globally competitive. The District has established social media outlets to keep the community connected around academic progress, social issues, as well as a vast variety of programs and initiatives. East Orange School District aspires to be the educational model of excellence for teaching and learning.
PrideOn August 12, 2022 the Dionne Warwick Institute announced today the school has been certified and named as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School by FranklinCovey Education. This recognition is evidence that the school has
produced outstanding results in school and student outcomes, by implementing the Leader in Me process with fidelity and excellence. It is also because of the extraordinary impact the school is having on staff, students, parents, and the greater community.

Leader in Me is an evidence-based PK-12 model, developed in partnership with educators, designed to build perseverance and leadership in students, create a high-trust culture, and help improve academic achievement. This model equips students, educators, and families with the leadership and life skills needed to thrive, adapt, and to contribute in a dynamic world.
